Nicosia welcomes the 2nd NEOLAiA International Conference on Narrating (Hi)Stories in Decentring Europe this September, bringing together researchers, educators and students from across Europe.
Taking place on 24–25 September 2026 at the University of Nicosia, this year’s conference focuses on “Plurilingual Futures: Voices, Practices, and Reimagining Europe.”

What is the NEOLAiA International Conference?
NEOLAiA is an alliance of European universities, and its second international conference brings together scholars from different disciplines to explore the role of languages, identities and cultural perspectives in shaping contemporary Europe.
The 2026 programme looks particularly at plurilingualism, how different languages and voices are used and negotiated across social, cultural, educational and historical contexts.
Presentations during the conference will be delivered in English, Spanish and French, reflecting its international and multilingual character.
