October 1st — Grecophilia: The Gathering of Gaia
Start the month in the heart of old Nicosia with Grecophilia, returning to the atmospheric courtyard of The Old Powerhouse on October 1st.
The Gathering of Gaia marks the beginning of a new season for the popular gathering concept, bringing together music, contemporary aesthetics and the distinctive atmosphere of the old city.
Music will be curated by George Krekos and Geo Papadakis, with the event beginning at 14:00 and continuing into the evening.

A great choice if you want to spend Cyprus Independence Day experiencing a more local side of the capital.
October 2–4 — Cyprus Comic Con 2026
One of Cyprus’ biggest pop-culture events returns to Nicosia for three days.
Cyprus Comic Con 2026 takes over the Cyprus State Fair from October 2–4, bringing together comics, cosplay, gaming, film, international guests, artists, live music, tabletop games, food and plenty of activities.
The weekend begins on Friday afternoon, with a drone show at 19:00 followed by the official opening ceremony, before a packed Saturday and Sunday programme.
Whether you’re a dedicated fan or simply looking for something different to do while in Nicosia, Comic Con is one of the standout events of the month.

October 7–24 — Alternative Reality Art Exhibition
For something quieter, make time for a little contemporary art.
From October 7, Apocalypse Gallery hosts Alternative Reality, a new painting exhibition by Cypriot artist Marinos Kartikkis.
The exhibition also marks the beginning of the gallery’s new season and offers an easy cultural stop to add to an afternoon exploring Nicosia.

October 9–11 — Nicosia Book Fest 2026
Book lovers should save the second weekend of October.
The 11th Nicosia Book Fest returns to Acropolis Park for three days dedicated to literature, ideas and culture.
This year’s programme includes authors, book presentations, discussions, music, theatre and parallel cultural activities, with Spain featured as the Honoured Country.
The main festival programme runs on October 10 and 11 from 10:00 until 22:00, making it an easy daytime or evening addition to your weekend plans.

October 10 — Grand Antiques & Vintage Market
Looking for something a little different?
On October 10, the Grand Antiques & Vintage Market returns to Strovolos for its fourth edition.
Expect antiques, vinyl records, jewellery, vintage pieces and collectables, making it a fun stop for anyone who enjoys browsing for unusual finds rather than following the usual sightseeing route.

October 10–11 — MESTINPOLI Music Festival
One of the livelier weekends of the month comes courtesy of MESTINPOLI Music Festival, returning to Nicosia on October 10 and 11.
For two days, one of the capital’s historic spaces becomes an open-air festival filled with live music, cocktails, street food and the energy of the city.
It’s an especially good choice if you want to experience Nicosia after dark and see a more social, energetic side of the city.

October 10–11 — Amalia Melancholia
Prefer an evening at the theatre?
On October 10 and 11, the Nicosia Municipal Theatre hosts “Amalia melancholia, the Queen of the Palm Trees”, starring Emily Koliandri as Queen Amalia.
The production explores the story of Greece’s first queen through a contemporary theatrical perspective and adds another strong cultural option to an already busy October weekend.
